An Open Letter to Senator John McCain (R) Arizona

Yesterday morning when I heard on the news that Senator McCain was going to endorse Mitt Romney as the Republican nominee for president, I knew I had to write him. Below is a copy of the email I sent him. I am so frustrated that the media, the Washington insiders, the Republican party hierarchy seem to be engaged in an effort to force Mitt Romney on the voters as the Republican candidate. As I state in my email, I will not vote for Mitt Romney if he receives the nomination. I am disappointed in the weak field the Republicans have running. Where are the strong candidates? Christie? Ryan? Jeb Bush? Jindal? Pawlenty? Daniels? Huckabee? Why are they sitting this one out? Don't they realize how vital this 2012 election is to the future of our country? The reality is that their reluctance to participate only shows that the future of the U.S. is not a priority for them.

I'm not trying to change any one's mind. I'm not saying you should not support Romney if you feel that's what you're being called to do. I'm just expressing my opinion. I will not support him. Here's my letter:

Good Morning Senator McCain,
First I would like to thank you for your service to our country. Both in the military in defense of our freedom, and in the government protecting our rights.

I saw on the news this morning that you are going to endorse Mitt Romney for the Republican nomination for the Presidency. I would just like to say that it seems to me that the Republican Party is pushing Romney on us voters. I am not and will not be a Romney supporter. I have serious concerns about him in several areas. Don't get me wrong, he appears to be a nice guy, good family, man, and I do appreciate his service to the people of Massachusetts.

I'm not questioning your right to endorse him and I'm not trying to change your mind. I just wanted to express my opinion that he is being rammed down the throats of the Republican voters. If he receives the nomination I will vote for one of the alternative party nominees.

Thank you for your time. And thank you again for representing me as a citizen of Arizona. I have voted for you each time you have run since I moved here in 1979.

Rumors

There are so many rumors swirling around the 2012 Presidential Election... and I have to admit I love hearing them.

There are rumors that the Democrats will choose someone to run against President Obama in the primary (not likely). There's a rumor that Hilary Clinton may decide to challenge Obama in the primary (not likely, but would sure be entertaining). There's a rumor that Mike Huckabee will change his mind and run for President. That John Bolton will decide to run at the end of August. That Sarah Palin will decide to run at the end of September. The rumor that Rick Perry will run will be confirmed on Saturday when he officially announces his candidacy.

Rumors! Gotta love 'em...
