Happy Presidents Day!
When I was a child, we celebrated Lincoln's birthday and Washington's birthday. Then, in 1968 these were combined to create Presidents Day. Are we to honor only Washington? Washington and Lincoln? A day to celebrate all of our presidents? (The official name of the federal holiday is still Washington's Birthday). Unfortunately, most of us don't even know who all of our presidents were. So, I'm going to take this opportunity to refresh our memories. As you read through this list, you may not know much about some of these men. The reality is that all you need to know is that they each loved their country. They each made tremendous sacrifices to serve their country. They each sincerely believed that their policies would advance the country. Not one of them wished to harm our country. They were each placed in office by the will of the people. They all deserve our respect and gratitude.
