Your Vote is Critical This Year

Your vote is always important. If you don't vote, you can't complain! Not that this should be the incentive for you to vote. Your incentive should be that you want to have a say in who our leaders are. What direction our government is going in. How your everyday life is going to be affected by the policies of our government.

If you watch the news today, it looks like there are two voices in our country. The far Left and the far Right. Nothing could be further from the truth. There is a huge voice that lies somewhere in between those two positions. That is where most of us reside.

Your voice needs to be heard. This government "of the people, for the people, by the people" includes you! It doesn't matter where you fall in the political spectrum, what matters is that you care enough to vote.

I particularly don't understand Christians who don't vote. Are you kidding? Why do you think it's ok to sit on the sidelines, ring your hands, and bemoan the direction the country is headed in? Instead, educate yourself, pray about the issues, and let your voice be heard.

I also don't understand why women don't vote. Being too busy, not having enough time are not valid excuses. If you don't have enough time to drive to the polls a couple of times a year, then sign up for permanent mail-in ballots. They are easy, your vote goes in early, and you don't have to give it a second thought. Your children are counting on you to express your opinion at the polls. When you vote, you have a direct effect on the life your child is going to live.

The mid-term election is only 11 days away... please, go VOTE!

I Voted

I voted in the mid-term election yesterday. I filled out my ballot in the comfort of my home. I took time to look up the things I wasn't familiar with and come to an informed decision. I mailed my ballot today. Now I can sit back and see what everyone else does.

In Arizona we have several propositions to vote on. I voted "no" on all but one of them. I did not vote a straight ticket (as usual). I voted for some republicans, some democrats, and one libertarian for the first time in my life. I did not like the rep. or the dem. in that race. I voted "no" on the judges but one.

I sat out the race for my local school district. I don't have any kids in school. I'm not at all familiar with this district because we raised our family in another district.

So, my vote has been cast. For better or worse, my voice is going to be heard in this election.

Bring on 2012!
