You're in Arizona, Do You Know Where Your Birth Certificate Is?
The State of Arizona continues to be one of the most entertaining places I've ever lived. Politically, that is.
The controversy over the (as of this posting) yet unsigned Immigration Bill is going strong, complete with candlelight prayer vigils, High Schoolers walking miles to the State Capitol to protest, pro-bill protesters patrolling the Capitol grounds exclaiming, "speak English, speak English". It's a madhouse.
You would think that working on the Immigration Bill would have kept the Legislature from more mischief, but oh no, you'd be mistaken. They approved SB1024, a bill that requires presidential candidates to submit their US birth certificates to Arizona's secretary of state in order to get on the ballot in Arizona. Hmmm, wonder where they got that idea?
So, my advice is this. If you plan to visit Arizona any time soon, be sure to have your birth certificate with you. You will need it to prove your citizenship, even if you're the President of the United States of America.
